Overview

The Visiting Professional will support the Victims Participation and Reparations Section (VPRS) in facilitating victims’ participation and reparations before the International Criminal Court (ICC). The role involves research, drafting, and assisting with victim identification and support.


Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out research and assist in drafting reports and key messages.
  • Contribute to the identification of victims and survivors entitled to participate in proceedings and/or request reparations.
  • Assist in identifying intermediaries and international agencies for cooperation.
  • Support the identification of needs for VPRS intermediaries and assist in preparing training.
  • Prepare summaries of relevant reports and documents.
  • Attend meetings and prepare minutes.
  • Participate in discussions of VPRS field strategies and plans.
  • Participate in discussions and projects of the VPRS.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance VPRS field duties.
  • Conduct other tasks as needed.
Required Experience

At least 3 years of relevant professional experience.

Qualifications

A university degree from a recognized university. Preferred fields include social sciences (political science, sociology, psychology, social work, communication, cultural studies, international relations, human rights, law), data science, information technology, and statistics. Candidates are expected to have a very good record of academic performance.

Languages Required
Proficiency in one of the working languages of the Court, French or English, is required.
Languages Preferred
Working knowledge of the other working language (French or English) is considered an asset. Arabic, Dari, Tagalog, Cebuano, and Pashto speakers are particularly encouraged to apply.

Remuneration
Internship and visiting professional placements at the ICC are unfunded. The ICC is not able to provide participants with any remuneration, nor is it possible to provide reimbursement for expenses incurred prior, during or after the internship or visiting professional placement. Applicants must be able to support themselves for the entire duration of their internship or visiting professional placement.
