Overview

Visiting professionals are expected to carry out research projects relevant to the mandate of the Counsel Support Section and contribute to the improvement of its policies and procedures.


Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out one or more research projects relevant to the mandate of the Section.
  • Contribute to the improvement of its policies and procedures, as agreed with the Section Chief.
Required Experience
  • At least 3 (three) years of relevant professional experience.
  • Practical experience that is relevant to the work of the Court may be considered an asset.
Qualifications
  • A relevant degree from a recognised university.
  • An advanced degree will be a strong asset.
  • A very good record of academic performance.
Other Details
Languages Required
• Proficiency in one of the working languages of the Court, French or English, is required.
Languages Preferred
• Working knowledge of the other working language (French or English) is desirable. • Knowledge of another official language of the Court (Arabic, Chinese, Russian and Spanish) is an asset.
Contract Duration
• Between one and six months (to be agreed to prior to commencement). • Visiting Professional placements shall not be extended beyond six months.

Remuneration
• Internship and visiting professional placements at the ICC are unfunded. • The ICC is not able to provide participants with any remuneration. • It is not possible to provide reimbursement for expenses incurred prior, during or after the internship or visiting professional placement. • Applicants must be able to support themselves for the entire duration of their internship or visiting professional placement.
