Overview

This internship supports the Electoral Assistance Division (EAD) in coordinating and providing electoral assistance across UN entities. The role involves research, analysis, and support for electoral policy and projects.


Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in drafting and preparing official documents and correspondence.
  • Attend and take notes during trainings, conferences and meetings.
  • Assist with preparations and logistics for trainings, conferences and meetings.
  • Assist with inter-active presentations.
  • Conduct research.
  • Conduct media analysis.
  • Research and compile statistics on various topics.
  • Assist with EAD institutional memory database.
  • Gather, analyse and update country specific information.
  • Support creation of dashboards and reports.
  • Perform ad-hoc data analysis and present results in a clear manner.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
  • Design infographics and other visual materials to accompany reports, presentations, and policy briefs.
  • Explain electoral data in accessible visual formats.
Required Experience

Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience.

Qualifications
  • Applicants should have good knowledge of standard software applications, especially MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Teams.
  • Experience with visual design tools (e.g. Power BI, Adobe Illustrator, PowerPoint).
  • Applicants must be a student in the final year of the first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), Master's or Ph.D. Programme or equivalent, or have completed a Bachelor's, Master's or PH.D. Programme.

Languages Required
Fluency in spoken and written English is required for the internship.
Languages Preferred
Knowledge of an additional UN language is an asset.

3-6 months

Remuneration
Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
