Overview
The UN Clinic Nurse performs clinical and administrative duties to provide quality nursing services that contribute to the good physical and mental health of staff. The role aims to strengthen the capacity of the UN Clinic at the duty station.
Key Responsibilities
- Responds to emergency calls and assists UN Health Manager.
- Ensures effective liaison between patient and private doctor, paramedics, family members, and colleagues.
- Assists with the management, organization, and coordination of fever, Covid-19 symptoms, or any outbreak in an isolation room.
- Supports the UN Health Manager in the management of the isolation room.
- Performs point-of-care screening tests.
- Performs clinical assessment of patients and provides care/advice or facilitates referral.
- Ensures preparedness of staff on Covid-19 or epidemic mitigation measures.
- Assists in providing health education and health promotion programs.
- Assists UN Health Officer in all her/his activities.
- Ensures that medical instruments are properly sterilized.
- Ensures proper filing of medical and other records, including use of the electronic filing system Earthmed.
- Evaluates, orders, and maintains an efficient inventory and stock control.
- Provides good client orientation to all UN staff.
Required Experience
- Minimum 6 years (Accredited Diploma) or 3 years (Bachelor’s degree) of continuous clinical experience in nursing, preferably in a multicultural environment, is required.
- National registration and license are a requirement.
Qualifications
• Registered Professional Nurse and/or first-level Bachelor's degree from an accredited Nursing Program (University) or equivalent, such as an accredited Diploma/SRN Program (3 years) is required.
