Overview

Leads the Digital Center of Excellence, providing strategic leadership and oversight for digital products and services, including AI, Data, and Knowledge Management, to support UNFPA's core programmatic work.


Key Responsibilities
  • Drive the implementation of the UNFPA Digital Strategy and create multi-year roadmaps for the Digital CoE.
  • Act as a strategic liaison with regional, country, and programme teams.
  • Direct the budget, resource planning, and resource mobilization for the Digital COE.
  • Manage strategic partnerships with technology providers and UN agencies.
  • Lead the organization's engagement in Digital Public Goods.
  • Oversee the end-to-end delivery and full lifecycle of the Digital CoE’s product portfolio.
  • Collaborate with ITSO engineering teams to increase maturity in product delivery.
  • Identify and scale successful digital innovations.
  • Establish monitoring and evaluation frameworks.
  • Lead the UNFPA AI Governance Framework.
  • Lead the UNFPA Data Governance Framework.
  • Ensure a unified enterprise data architecture.
  • Evolve the digital workplace into a robust knowledge ecosystem.
  • Lead the UNFPA Digital Dexterity Program.
  • Act as a change evangelist to drive adoption of new ways of working.
  • Establish practices to foster a culture of continuous learning.
  • Manage the staff and personnel of the Digital Center of Excellence unit.
  • Develop, manage, measure, and report on key performance indicators.
  • Ensure the delivery of trainings and webinars on effective use of corporate technologies.
Required Experience
  • A minimum of 10 years professional experience in information technology management, business operations, or field support in leveraging technology to improve programme results in a large international organization is required.
  • Knowledge and understanding of T4D, AI and KM systems in cloud environments.
  • Proven project and programme management skills with excellent knowledge of change management are desirable.
  • Sound experience on information systems management and support.
  • Experience with UN system policies and operations or a similar environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively within all levels of the organization, including briefing executive management and key client stakeholders.
Qualifications
  • Advanced university degree in Information Technology, Business Administration or related discipline.
  • A first-level university degree in combination with 2 additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
