Overview
The Senior Health Officer will be responsible for the management, oversight, and quality assurance of all health-related activities, providing technical support, capacity building, and supervision to project teams and healthcare providers.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee quality counseling and service delivery in IRC-supported health facilities.
- Monitor health program implementation to ensure achievement of project targets.
- Provide technical guidance and training on Reproductive Health, Maternal and Child Health, Primary Health Care, Mental Health and Psychosocial Support, Infections Prevention and Control, Nutrition, and Family Planning.
- Ensure health interventions comply with project goals, IRC and donor standards, and health protocols.
- Ensure strict Infection Prevention and Control measures, including proper waste management.
- Conduct Training Needs Assessments and develop/implement capacity-building plans.
- Facilitate and lead health-related training sessions and workshops.
- Provide continuous support and mentorship to staff.
- Maintain detailed training records and share progress reports.
- Work with the MEAL team to design and implement health monitoring and evaluation tools.
- Participate in field visits to monitor project implementation and provide support.
- Provide feedback, identify gaps, and recommend corrective actions.
- Assist the Health Manager in preparing technical reports and documentation.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders, including the Health Department, Partners, and other actors.
- Support coordination efforts for effective planning and delivery of health services.
Required Experience
- Minimum 3 years of experience in health program implementation, including training and capacity building.
- Experience in collaborating with government health departments and health sector partners.
Qualifications
• Relevant degree in public health or work experience.
