The Associate Political Affairs Officer will analyze information related to peace and security, particularly counter-terrorism, and support the Counter-Terrorism Committee's activities. The role involves preparing background materials, briefing notes, and reports.
A minimum of two years of progressively responsible experience in political science, international relations, law, disarmament, security, development management, conflict resolution or related area is required. Experience in supporting senior-level officials is required. Experience in counter-terrorism is required. One year or more of experience in data analytics or related area is desirable. No experience is required for candidates who have passed a United Nations Competitive Recruitment Examination.
A first-level university degree in political science, international relations, international economics, law, public administration or other related area. Successful completion of both degree and non-degree programs in data analytics, business analytics or data science programs is an advantage.
