Overview

The Family Liaison Officer will pilot and implement programs and interventions to address the family and well-being needs of employees and dependants in WFP offices in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and the Republic of Congo (RC).


Key Responsibilities
  • Pilot and implement programs and interventions to support employees and their families.
  • Identify specific needs and implement innovative solutions for inclusion and optimal family support.
  • Facilitate social support through the creation and animation of local FLOCK groups.
  • Identify local resources for families (mental health professionals, specialized services, schools, employment networks).
  • Strengthen awareness and create external partnerships with UN sister agencies.
  • Collaborate with functional services (Medical, HR, Security, Administration) to advocate for families.
  • Develop and populate family sections on WFP's Wellness Platform/App.
  • Participate in the development of specific programs and raise awareness on key themes.
  • Sit on National Wellness Committees to advocate for the integration of family activities.
  • Provide counseling and initial psychological support to employees and their dependants.
  • Ensure employees and their families receive timely psychosocial support during critical incidents.
  • Advise management on support protocols during crisis periods.
Required Experience
  • One (1) year of progressively responsible postgraduate professional experience relevant to the field is required.
  • Demonstrated experience working with families.
  • Training and/or experience in project and/or event management is essential.
  • International experience is an added value.
Qualifications
  • Advanced university degree (master's or equivalent) in clinical or counselling psychology, psychiatry, clinical social work, or demonstrably equivalent studies from a recognized institution focusing on family systems or a similar field.
  • Additional training or certification in a wide range of related fields, such as child psychology, disability, systems theory, resilience, intercultural communication, conflict resolution, family mediation, trauma, etc., will be an advantage.
