Overview

Policy Officer to contribute to the identification, analysis, quality review, and implementation of policies and programmes to advance gender equality and women’s and girls’ empowerment.


Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the identification, analysis, quality review and implementation of policies and programmes to advance gender equality and women’s and girls’ empowerment.
  • Provide thematic support and financial expertise to mainstream gender equality and women empowerment in Global Gateway priority sectors and investment initiatives.
  • Liaise and work with geographical and horizontal directorates, delegations, Development Finance Institution and Member States development agencies.
  • Contribute to sectoral policies, develop thematic guidance, training and knowledge materials.
  • Provide quality support to geographical directorates and delegations.
Required Experience
  • At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in one or more of the following domains: Gender equality, External Relation/ cooperation aid, Economics.
  • Professional experience related to the design and implementation of Innovative Development Finance instruments and mechanisms.
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in managing international cooperation programmes in one or more of the domains listed above would be an asset.
Qualifications

• Have a level of education which corresponds to completed university studies of at least three years attested by a diploma.

Languages Required
• Thorough knowledge (minimum level C1) of one of the 24 official languages of the EU. • Satisfactory knowledge (minimum level B2) of a second official language of the EU.

Contract Duration
The duration of the first contract will be 1 year. Subject to the interest of the service, the contract may be renewed one or more times up to a maximum duration of 6 years.

Remuneration
The pay of staff members consists of a basic salary supplemented with specific allowances, including, where applicable, expatriation and family allowances.
