Overview

The Regional Coordinator of Advocacy, Campaigns, and Child Participation coordinates the strategic design, implementation, and measurement of evidence-based advocacy initiatives to ensure the well-being of children in Latin America and the Caribbean.


Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinates the strategic design, implementation, and measurement of evidence-based advocacy initiatives.
  • Provides strategic advice to focal points in national offices.
  • Identifies, builds, and nurtures collaboration relationships with regional bodies, national governments, civil society, private sector, and children.
  • Advances the rights of children through a local-to-global advocacy approach.
  • Works in close coordination with Communications and Faith and Development (F&D) Mobilization teams.
  • Develops and oversees the implementation of the Regional Advocacy & EE Plan.
  • Ensures advocacy is grounded in evidence and child rights principles.
  • Monitors regional trends and policy developments.
  • Coordinates roll out, implementation, and tracks results of global and regional campaigns.
  • Informs the inclusion of advocacy approaches in grant acquisition, programs, and humanitarian responses.
  • Maps, identifies strategic stakeholders and connects them to relevant counterparts.
  • Fosters collaboration conducive to enhanced positioning and diversification of funding streams.
  • Represents World Vision in regional forums, coalitions, and working groups.
  • Connects regional representations to local representations of relevant stakeholders.
  • Fosters meaningful and inclusive participation of children from LAC.
  • Fosters and nurtures a regional network of child participation.
  • Develops and supports mechanisms for meaningful child participation.
  • Amplifies the voices of children in World Vision’s EE and positioning.
  • Collaborates with research, DME, and programs teams to generate data and evidence for advocacy.
  • Translates research findings into policy briefs, position papers, and advocacy messages.
  • Supports National Offices in tailoring evidence for regional and global advocacy efforts.
  • Provides technical assistance and training to country offices on advocacy and child participation.
  • Fosters cross-country learning and sharing of best practices.
  • Develops tools and guidance to strengthen advocacy capacity across the region.
  • Traces the progress of advocacy initiatives and child participation outcomes.
  • Contributes to regional and global reporting requirements.
  • Uses learning to adapt strategies and scale up impact.
Required Experience
  • 7 years of experience in advocacy, public policy, or child rights promotion, preferably in Latin America and the Caribbean.
  • Experience working with or within regional bodies and multilateral institutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage children and youth in participatory processes.
  • Proven track record of influencing policy and practice at national and regional levels.
  • Strong understanding of displacement, violence prevention, food security, and climate justice from a rights perspective.
Qualifications

• Mínimum Bachelor’s degree in International Relations, Human Rights, Social Science, Public Policy, or related field.

• Excellent speaking, writing, and comprehension skills in English and Spanish.
Languages Preferred
• Portuguese and French are a plus.
