Overview

The role focuses on collecting, analyzing, and disseminating logistics-related information to support humanitarian response operations in the region. The Information Management Officer will manage information platforms and tools to aid operational decision-making.


Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the focal point for collecting, verifying, analyzing, and disseminating logistics-related information.
  • Draft and maintain key Logistics Cluster information products and communicate commodity tracking and reporting procedures.
  • Ensure quality control and standardization of operations and information management products.
  • Maintain and manage internal file storage systems and documentation formats.
  • Develop and produce information products such as Concept of Operations (ConOps), SOPs, situation updates, bulletins, snapshots, briefings, infographics, meeting minutes, concept notes, and operational overviews.
  • Gather logistics data in crisis areas, including procedures and bottlenecks, and support emergency response by preparing lessons learned reports.
  • Coordinate with the Cluster Lead Agency to produce situation reports, weekly bulletins, and proposals.
  • Prepare inputs for donor reports, funding proposals, Humanitarian Needs Assessments, Humanitarian Response Plans, and other inter-agency documents.
  • Draft regular updates for donors, Humanitarian Country Teams, and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure proper archiving and availability of data.
  • Maintain and moderate Logistics Cluster mailing lists and support lessons learned exercises.
  • Manage and update content for the Logistics Working Group (LWG) webpage, and Log.IE interactive maps.
  • Promote and ensure use of platforms like Log.IE among national and regional stakeholders.
  • Conduct and support warehouse/storage capacity mapping, customs procedures and logistics bottleneck analysis, supplier mapping and outreach, and Waste Recycling and Economic Cooperation (WREC) mapping.
  • Liaise with the Cluster Lead Agency, other UN agencies, NGOs, national authorities, and relevant working groups.
  • Engage with the Access Working Group to enhance and share logistics access-related data.
  • Attend coordination meetings and represent cluster challenges.
  • Perform other assigned duties.
Required Experience

Minimum three years of professional experience (after completion of Advanced University Degree) or additional years of experience after completion of first university degree, in an international context including: responsibility in information management, communications and/or reporting roles, experience in humanitarian logistics and experience with reporting/tracking systems. Previous experience in emergencies is required.

Qualifications

Advanced university degree in information management, data analysis, logistics, journalism, international relations, communications or related field; or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

Fluency in both oral and written communication in English.
Languages Preferred
Knowledge of French and/or Arabic is desirable.
Contract Duration
Three (3) months, renewable based on need, performance and funding availability.
