Overview
Support the climate change portfolio, including UNDRR's comprehensive risk management programme and engagement in global climate change processes on adaptation and loss and damage.
Key Responsibilities
- Support climate change portfolio, including UNDRR's comprehensive risk management (CRM) programme and engagement in global climate change processes on adaptation and loss and damage.
- Assist in drafting and preparing background documents, reports, issue briefs, talking points, articles, case studies, presentations, etc.
- Support on research, development and review of technical and methodological guidance and documentation, and substantive note taking in meetings.
- Support UNDRR's engagement in UNFCCC and Paris Agreement-related processes
- Contribute to the advancement of the comprehensive risk management activities being coordinated by the Bonn office
- Assist in the organization of and participates in events, workshops, webinars, and trainings.
Required Experience
No working experience is required to apply for the United Nations Internship Programme.
Qualifications
- Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher) in fields related to programme management, environment affairs, including climate change or disaster risk reduction, environmental or social sciences, geography, economics, statistics, or data sciences.
- Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor's level or equivalent) in fields related to programme management and environment affairs, including climate change or disaster risk reduction, environmental sciences or social sciences, geography, economics, statistics, or data sciences.
- Be computer literate in standard software applications including MS Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point).
