Overview

The WASH Officer provides technical, operational, and administrative assistance throughout the WASH programming process. The role involves preparing, managing, and implementing tasks related to the development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of WASH output results.


Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare, manage and implement a variety of technical and administrative tasks related to the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the WASH output results of the country programme.
  • Provide technical, operational and administrative assistance throughout the WASH programming process.
Required Experience
  • 2 years of relevant work experience in WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene), Programme development and planning, Programme management, Monitoring and delivery of results, Technical and operational support, Humanitarian WASH preparedness and response, Networking and partnership building, Innovation, Knowledge management and capacity building and any other related fields.
  • Relevant experience at the country level, particularly in development, fragile settings, and humanitarian contexts.
Qualifications

• Bachelor or equivalent (First Level University Degree) in Public Health, Social Science, Behavior Change, Communication, Sanitary Engineering or another relevant technical field.

• Fluency in English is required.
Languages Preferred
• Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish) or a local language (Somali) is an asset.
