Overview

The Social and Behavior Change Specialist provides technical and operational support for developing and implementing evidence-based strategies to promote behavioral and social change for improved child rights, survival, and wellbeing.


Key Responsibilities
  • Generate and utilize research, data, and evidence to inform the design, measurement, and monitoring of SBC programs and outcomes.
  • Design, plan, and implement SBC activities backed by social and behavioral evidence and strong engagement mechanisms.
  • Advocate for SBC, mobilize resources, coordinate across stakeholders, and build partnerships.
  • Promote continuous learning and capacity building in SBC for UNICEF staff and partners.
Required Experience
  • A minimum of five years of professional experience in social development programme planning, social and behavior change, communication for development, public advocacy, or another related area is required.
  • Relevant experience in a UN system agency or organization is considered an asset.
  • Experience working in a developing country is considered an asset.
Qualifications

An advanced university degree in Economics, Public Policy, Social Sciences, International Relations, Political Science, or another relevant technical field is required.

Fluency in French and English is required.
Languages Preferred
Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, Russian or Spanish) or a local language is an asset.
