Overview
The Social and Behavior Change Specialist provides technical and operational support for developing and implementing evidence-based strategies to promote behavioral and social change for improved child rights, survival, and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate and utilize research, data, and evidence to inform the design, measurement, and monitoring of SBC programs and outcomes.
- Design, plan, and implement SBC activities backed by social and behavioral evidence and strong engagement mechanisms.
- Advocate for SBC, mobilize resources, coordinate across stakeholders, and build partnerships.
- Promote continuous learning and capacity building in SBC for UNICEF staff and partners.
Required Experience
- A minimum of five years of professional experience in social development programme planning, social and behavior change, communication for development, public advocacy, or another related area is required.
- Relevant experience in a UN system agency or organization is considered an asset.
- Experience working in a developing country is considered an asset.
Qualifications
An advanced university degree in Economics, Public Policy, Social Sciences, International Relations, Political Science, or another relevant technical field is required.
