Overview
Provide technical support and expertise for aligning national energy and climate legislation with EU acquis, covering policy drafting, implementation, inter-institutional coordination, and advisory support on decarbonisation, CBAM, and EU ETS alignment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality technical assistance and policy advice on the transposition, adoption, and implementation of EU energy and climate requirements.
- Support institutions in addressing EU acquis compliance, legislative processes, and implementation challenges.
- Advise on aligning national energy and climate frameworks with evolving EU requirements.
- Support coordination among national institutions involved in energy and climate policy implementation.
- Facilitate interinstitutional dialogue on reforms and procedures related to climate and energy.
- Support engagement in Energy Community structures through analytical inputs, reports, and negotiation positions.
- Provide policy advice on electricity market integration and alignment with EU requirements.
- Deliver research-based policy advice on EU climate acquis, carbon pricing, CBAM, and EU ETS alignment.
- Contribute to strengthened coordination, evidence-based policymaking, and sustainable progress in energy and climate acquis alignment.
Required Experience
- At least 7 years of professional experience in energy and/or climate policy, EU acquis alignment, or Energy Community-related work.
- Demonstrated experience with EU energy and climate legislation.
- Demonstrated experience with Energy Community Treaty obligations.
- Demonstrated experience with electricity market regulation and integration.
- Experience supporting public institutions in EU Member States or EU candidate countries is highly desirable.
Qualifications
- Advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in law, economics, environmental science, engineering, or a related field.
- PhD in a relevant field is desired.
