Overview

The role focuses on identifying investment opportunities, structuring financial solutions, and managing investments in the manufacturing, chemicals, and fertilizers sectors in Egypt and North Africa.


Key Responsibilities
  • Develop a strong pipeline of investment opportunities through origination and business development.
  • Evaluate, structure, negotiate, and close new transactions and portfolio restructurings.
  • Lead term sheet negotiation and legal documentation processes.
  • Communicate credit analysis and investment proposals verbally and in writing.
  • Develop and implement innovative financial structures for debt, equity, and mezzanine investments.
  • Provide high-quality client service throughout the project cycle.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients, partners, and government officials.
  • Assist in formulating and updating IFC’s strategy in the manufacturing sectors in Africa.
  • Coordinate with social, environmental, governance, and technical assistance colleagues.
  • Support thought leadership within the team on manufacturing, chemicals, and fertilizer sectors.
  • Mentor and develop junior staff.
Required Experience
  • At least 13 to 15 years of relevant work experience in a private equity firm, commercial bank, investment bank or international financial institution with significant emerging markets presence.
  • Experience in a lead role in investment transactions (corporate and project finance).
  • Proven success and track record in developing client relationships.
  • Ability to focus on client needs effectively.
  • Experience in sourcing, negotiating, structuring, and closing quality investments.
  • Strong expertise in manufacturing, chemicals and fertilizers sectors.
  • Relevant experience originating and structuring transactions in these sectors.
  • Strong deal origination experience and capacity.
  • Strong business development/origination track record.
  • Demonstrated judgment in identifying/screening potential business partners and investment opportunities.
Qualifications

Advanced degree (Master’s) in Finance, Business Administration or equivalent.
