Overview
The FSL Project Officer is responsible for the overall community mobilization and engagement, planning, coordination, implementation, monitoring, and review of the project. The role provides technical support for successful project implementation according to donor and government agreements, and ensures efficient management of resources.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop livelihoods work plan.
- Capture related activities during implementation as per project documents.
- Work with local authorities and target community in setting participatory beneficiary selection criteria and selections of direct beneficiaries.
- Facilitate technical training on good agronomic practices and set up demonstration plots.
- Facilitate distribution of agricultural inputs.
- Facilitate technical training to modern agronomic practices, animal husbandry, disease prevention, nutrition utilization, and climate-smart gardening.
- Plan, implement, monitor, and review the implementation of the livelihood component of the project.
- Provide technical support to local authorities and target communities aiming at building their planning and implementation capacity.
- Prepare and maintain records, beneficiary databases, documents, and control for monitoring.
- Prepare weekly and monthly implementation plans.
- Provide technical support to Nutrition promoters, counsellors, support groups, community volunteers, AAP committees, and community.
- Represent SCI at county and/or Payam(s) levels and participate in local nutrition and FSL cluster meetings.
- Prepare action plans jointly with project staff, line departments, and stakeholders for monitoring, review, and reporting.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, intermediate, and final reports.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- Document and share lessons learned.
- Work closely with MEAL officers to ensure accurate data capture related to MIYCN indicators.
Required Experience
- At least three years of work experience in the agriculture sector.
- At least three years in local or international NGOs or government.
- Experience in implementation of similar project/programs in livelihood-based emergency responses activities in the agriculture sector and village-level saving and credit activities.
- Experience in facilitating community-based trainings.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree, Diploma or equivalent in agronomy, Agriculture economics, Rural Development, NRM and DRR, food security, and/or emergency livelihood/food security intervention.
