Overview
This internship provides support to procurement operations at the United Nations Office at Geneva, focusing on data management, market research, and general procurement assistance.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the establishment and maintenance of internal supplier databases.
- Assist in collecting, structuring and updating supplier information.
- Help ensure data accuracy, consistency and ease of retrieval.
- Conduct market research on suppliers, service providers and relevant sectors.
- Assist in preparing summary notes, comparison tables and background information.
- Support benchmarking exercises.
- Assist in supporting activities related to the Common Procurement Activities Group (CPAG).
- Support the development and organization of a structured query tracking system.
- Assist in organizing historical records and knowledge resources.
- Assist in preparing basic procurement documentation, spreadsheets and data summaries.
- Support internal coordination tasks related to contracts, supplier communications and administrative follow-up.
- Perform other procurement-related tasks as required.
Required Experience
Applicants to the UN Internship programme are not required to have professional work experience.
Qualifications
- Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); OR be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor's level or equivalent).
- Pursuing or have pursued a degree in procurement, business administration, economics, supply chain management, information management, IT, or a related field.
- Computer literate in standard software applications, including the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Comfortable using collaboration and communication tools (e.g. Microsoft Teams, SharePoint).
