Overview
Support the development of e-learning courses on geodesy by structuring, organizing, and adapting content for online learning. Assist in converting technical material into learner-centred e-learning modules.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development of an e-learning course on geodesy by structuring, organizing, and adapting existing UN GGCE content for online learning.
- Assist in converting technical material (reports, presentations, training slides, background papers) into learner centred e-learning modules, ensuring clarity, coherence, and appropriate cognitive load.
- Support the use of Articulate 360 to develop interactive learning elements, quizzes, knowledge checks, visuals, and narration scripts, under guidance.
- Assist with the preparation of course outlines, learning objectives, module structures, and storyboards aligned with adult learning and capacity development principles.
- Support the integration and hosting of course content on the Digital Learning Centre’s Moodle platform or Articulate Cloud, as appropriate.
- Support testing and quality assurance of e-learning modules within the Leaning Management System (LMS) to ensure functionality, usability, and accessibility across devices.
- Collaborate with technical experts to ensure scientific accuracy and alignment with UN GGCE objectives and the GGRF framework.
- Contribute to the preparation of supporting materials such as course descriptions, participant guidance notes, and certification or assessment elements.
- Assist with coordination and documentation related to course development meetings, reviews, and timelines.
- Perform other related duties as assigned in support of UN GGCE capacity development and digital learning activities.
Required Experience
Applicants to the United Nations Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience. However, a field of study that is closely related to the type of internship is required.
Qualifications
- Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher) in instructional design, e-learning, educational technology, multimedia design, digital communications, geodesy, geospatial sciences, GIS, geography, or a related field; or,
- Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent) in any of the fields listed above.
