Overview
The expert will provide technical input for GHG projections and mitigation scenario development, contributing to the completion of project deliverables and reports.
Key Responsibilities
- Co-developing stocktaking reports, including mapping procedures, institutional arrangements, and needs assessments.
- Co-developing validation workshop reports.
- Preparing reports on selected tools for emissions projections and defining their scope.
- Developing reports on baseline projections using selected GHG projection tools.
- Co-developing stakeholder validation workshop reports and improvement plans.
- Co-developing stakeholder consultation workshop reports for policy and measure identification.
- Preparing reports on detailed GHG projection/scenario results and GHG target establishment.
- Co-developing final validation workshop and socialization of the framework.
- Co-developing final project reports including lessons learned and achievements.
Required Experience
- Minimum 5 years of proven working experience in climate/environment protection.
- Minimum 10 years of proven experience in working with diverse GHG projections methodologies and tools.
- Minimum 5 years of proven experience in identifying mitigation policies and measures, and modeling GHG mitigation scenarios.
- Minimum 5 years of proven experience of working with international development projects, and national and local stakeholder engagement related to climate mitigation.
- Demonstrated experience in GHG emission accounting, preparation of national communications and biennial update report /Biennial Transparency Report is an added advantage.
Qualifications
- Advance university degree (Master’s or equivalent), preferably in the natural and social sciences.
- A Bachelor degree with a relevant combination of two years of additional experience related to the position may be accepted in lieu of an advanced university degree.
