Overview
Support in-country coordination and implementation of CCAC-supported activities in Somalia, focusing on air quality management and short-lived climate pollutants (SLCPs). Contribute to strengthening national air quality governance and integrating SLCP considerations into national planning processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development of policy-relevant evidence, including policy gap analysis and recommendations for a National Air Quality Policy and National SLCPs Plan.
- Facilitate cross-ministerial consultations and stakeholder engagement.
- Support the integration of SLCP considerations, including methane, into existing national planning processes.
- Identify priority actions and capacity needs for Air Quality Monitoring and SLCPs mitigation.
- Support the implementation of project activities and enhance linkages between air quality and climate policy processes.
- Track progress of project activities and support reporting requirements.
- Support the representation of Somalia in relevant CCAC engagements and regional dialogues.
Required Experience
- At least 3 years of professional experience working in a field relevant to environmental management/science, climate change, economics, health, project management, finance, administration.
- Demonstrated ability to provide technical assistance to governments and other stakeholders is required.
- Ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholder groups including national governments is required.
- Knowledge of the national policies in climate change mitigation and air pollution is required.
- A good understanding of short-lived climate pollutants, climate change and air pollution issues in Thailand is required.
Qualifications
Master's degree or equivalent qualification in a subject related to environmental management/science, economics, health, project management, finance, administration, or in a relevant field.
