Overview
The Driver-1 is responsible for the safe transportation of IRC personnel and materials, and for the care and maintenance of IRC vehicles.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the safe transportation of IRC personnel.
- Ensure the safe transportation of IRC materials.
- Maintain and care for IRC vehicles and their accessories.
- Adhere strictly to IRC's vehicle policies and procedures.
- Conduct daily and pre-long distance vehicle checks.
- Accurately maintain the vehicle's log sheet.
- Keep the vehicle clean, fueled, and mechanically sound.
- Inspect and maintain all vehicle accessories.
- Advise the Transport Manager of pending inspections, insurance renewal, or any defects or problems.
Required Experience
Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a professional driver, preferably in an INGO setting.
Qualifications
- Secondary School leaving Certificate.
- Valid National driver’s license.
