Overview

Supports accurate humanitarian data collection, assists in developing coordination mechanisms among humanitarian actors, and contributes to monitoring and reporting of the humanitarian situation and response.


Key Responsibilities
  • Reviews incoming field reports and prepares summaries.
  • Contributes to maintaining reference/resource information.
  • Assists in the organization of field missions.
  • Identifies key information for organizational decision-making.
  • Supports the organization of meetings and workshops.
  • Contributes to establishing relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Contributes to the collection and analysis of data.
  • Supports the collection of field information to monitor response.
  • Supports the drafting of analytical reports.
  • Monitors the humanitarian context and reports on emerging trends.
  • Participates in contingency planning and emergency preparedness activities.
  • Assists in rapid assessment of emergency situations.
  • Provides support in mobilizing and coordinating emergency response teams.
Required Experience
  • Applicants with a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) are required to have a minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience in humanitarian affairs, emergency preparedness, crisis/emergency relief management, or other related area is required;
  • Experience in emergency situations (complex emergency or natural disaster) is desirable.
  • Experience in a humanitarian context within the UN Common System or other comparable international or national organization is desirable.
  • Experience in coordination and stakeholder engagement is desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of the Ukraine humanitarian context, including Eastern regions in particular, or other operationally relevant areas is desirable.
Qualifications
  • Master’s degree or equivalent in political science, social science, international studies, public administration, economics, engineering, earth sciences, or a related field is required.
  • A bachelor’s degree with an additional 2 years of relevant experience can be accepted in lieu of Master’s degree.

Languages Required
Fluency in English and Ukrainian (written and spoken) is required.
Languages Preferred
Fluency in other UN languages is desirable.
Contract Duration
1 Year with Possibility for extension
