Overview

The UN Clinic Doctor plans, organizes, manages, and coordinates healthcare services in the clinic, providing primary care and occupational health and safety support to UN personnel and their dependents in Copenhagen.


Key Responsibilities
  • Oversees clinical and occupational health services, including employment clearances, travel medicine, first aid, emergency care, and referrals.
  • Develops and oversees occupational health and safety programs, risk assessments, and health promotion programs.
  • Advises management on health matters and ensures quality control and adherence to UN clinical guidelines.
  • Oversees medical administration, including recommendations on medical entitlements, sick leave management, and return-to-work programs.
  • Manages the work and results of medical staff, ensuring medical confidentiality, budget preparation, and performance management.
  • Coordinates with UNHQ on healthcare policy development and represents the medical service on health and medical entitlement matters.
Required Experience
  • A minimum of five (5) years with Medical Doctor (MD degree) OR 7 years in case of Bachelor degree of progressively responsible clinical experience in one of the areas of medicine including at least five years in the Occupational Health field, are required.
  • At least two years of managerial experience in the medical field including budgeting, supervisory responsibilities and resource management are desirable.
  • Experience in an International Organizations desirable.
  • Experience in travel medicine is desirable.
Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree or equivalent in Medical Doctor (MD), including residency/internship in one of the medical specialties, preferably in general practice OR,
  • a Bachelor’s Degree that qualifies for registration as a licensed medical practitioner (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery) or equivalent in said fields with two additional years of relevant work experience.
  • Further certification in internal medicine or occupational health, tropical or travel medicines is desirable.
