Overview
Ensuring strategic and effective advocacy, planning and formulation of social policy programmes/projects and the achievement of sustainable results, contributing to the achievement of goals and objectives to create a protective environment for children.
Key Responsibilities
- Leading, managing and supervising all stages of social policy programming and related advocacy from strategic planning and formulation to delivery of concrete and sustainable results.
- Programmes aimed at improving public policies to reduce child poverty.
- Programmes aimed at improving social protection coverage and impact on children.
- Programmes aimed at improving the transparency, adequacy, equity and efficiency of child-focused public investments and financial management.
- Programmes aimed at improving governance, decentralization and accountability measures to increase public participation and the quality, equity and coverage of social services.
- Direct programme work with government and civil society partners.
- Linkages and support to teams working on education, health, child protection, and water and sanitation.
- Improving data on child poverty & vulnerability for increased use for policy and programme action.
- Strengthening social protection coverage and impact for children.
- Improving use of public financial resources for children.
- Strengthening capacity of local governments to plan, budget, consult on and monitor child-focused social services.
- Strengthened advocacy and partnerships for child-sensitive social policy.
- UNICEF Programme Management.
Required Experience
At least 10 years of relevant work experience in Social Policy, Programme Management, Development, International Development, International Non-Governmental Organizat, Governance, Decentralization. and any other related fields.
Qualifications
Master or equivalent (Advanced University Degree) in Economics, Social Science, Political Science, Public Policy, International Relations and any other related fields.
