Overview

This internship offers an opportunity to gain practical experience in public international law within the UN system, supporting the Legal Group at UNOPS with institutional legal documentation and compliance activities.


Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with the administration and record-keeping of UNOPS Host Country Arrangements (HCAs) and related records.
  • Contribute to accurate and up-to-date legal files in accordance with internal policies and compliance requirements.
  • Assist with required filings with the United Nations Treaty Section.
  • Organize, update, and maintain standard legal templates and guidance notes.
  • Curate legal resources, FAQs, and internal guidance materials on the intranet.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of legal information management and tools.
  • Assist with testing updates to legal tools and collecting user feedback for improvements.
  • Perform other related tasks in support of the ILP and LG.
Required Experience
  • Some experience with Google Workspace would be an asset.
  • Some exposure to public international law through studies, research or internships would be an asset.
Qualifications
  • Applicants must be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree and have successfully completed at least two years of study, or be pursuing a Master’s degree or a Ph.D. (or equivalent), within the areas of law or international relations or similar.
  • Applicants may also have graduated from such studies within three years prior to the internship application date.
  • Area of study should preferably be in Public International Law.
