Overview
Provide technical and implementation support to strengthen integrated control and elimination of Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs) and malaria in the WHO Western Pacific Region and priority Country Offices.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical and analytical support for regional and country-level planning, forecasting, quantification, and monitoring of NTD health commodities.
- Support consolidation, validation, and analysis of NTD surveillance and program data for regional and global reporting.
- Provide technical inputs to advance integrated approaches for skin-related NTDs.
- Deliver focused technical assistance to priority NTDs, including lymphatic filariasis, rabies, leprosy, soil-transmitted helminthiases, schistosomiasis, trachoma, and yaws.
- Provide technical and coordination support to priority public health interventions, including mass drug administration and relevant One Health approaches for zoonotic NTDs.
Required Experience
- At least two to five years of work experience in public health disease control program activities, including experience in tropical disease control and elimination or research at international level.
- Desirable: Experience in health systems development and operational research; knowledgeable with health partners-related initiatives; working experience in the Philippines.
Qualifications
- Essential: University degree in science, medicine, public health, tropical medicine, epidemiology, medical parasitology or entomology, from a recognized university.
- Desirable: Master’s degree (or above) in science, medicine, public health, tropical medicine, epidemiology, medical parasitology or entomology, from a recognized university. Postgraduate training in program management, health products management, and evaluation. Research training (e.g. Doctorate degree in relevant topic).
