Overview
Support the development of a communications and outreach strategy on the integration of human rights in the 2030 Agenda and OHCHR WARO's work supporting human rights integration in national development, economic, and financial policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Review existing materials, key messages, and relevant examples of office communications.
- Help define desired goals, outcomes, priority audiences, key messages, and channels for communications.
- Develop a communications plan aligned with relevant moments in the human rights and development calendar.
- Prepare content for the following quarter.
- Draft a small reusable content package, including short web stories, explainer notes, and standardized talking points, FAQs, and key messages.
- Revise products based on feedback and submit final versions.
Required Experience
- At least 2 years of experience in human rights, sustainable development, public policy, and economic policy issues.
- Demonstrated experience in campaigning or strategy development.
- Demonstrated experience in communications, public information, content development, or digital outreach in the field of human rights.
- Strong writing and editing skills for public-facing products, including web and social media content.
- Ability to translate technical policy issues into clear, accessible messaging for non-specialist audiences.
- Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and incorporate feedback in a collaborative environment.
- Experience developing communications plans, key messages, or content calendars is highly desirable.
Qualifications
• A degree in economics, social sciences, human rights, law, international relations, marketing, communications, journalism or related fields is considered an asset.
