Overview
The Provincial Associate will provide technical and administrative support for the design, planning, implementation, management, and monitoring of SHIELD activities within the Provincial Government.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the implementation and results-based monitoring of SHIELD’s provincial field activities.
- Provide programme support to subnational government counterparts and key stakeholders.
- Provide administrative support to the implementation of project activities.
- Support effective mainstreaming of gender equality, disability, social inclusion (GEDSI) and community participation.
- Support facilitating knowledge sharing and communication at the local level.
Required Experience
- Minimum six years (with Secondary education) or 3 years (with Bachelor’s degree) of work experience managing or implementing development projects, preferably in the areas of resilient development, climate change, and/or disaster risk reduction and management.
- Practical knowledge and experience in monitoring and evaluation.
- Practical knowledge and experience with planning and budgeting processes, preferably with local government authorities and/or communities.
- Practical experience with training and capacity building activities.
- Collaborative work approach and strong teamwork skills.
- Good negotiation and facilitation skills.
- Excellent oral and written skills; excellent drafting, formulation, reporting skills.
- Accuracy and professionalism in document production and editing.
- Excellent interpersonal skills; culturally and socially sensitive; ability to work inclusively and collaboratively with a range of partners.
- Proven ability to work and adapt professionally and effectively in a challenging environment; ability to work effectively in a multicultural team.
- Solid overall computer literacy, including proficiency in various MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc.) and email/internet; familiarity with database management; and office technology equipment.
- Self-motivated and proven ability to work with minimum supervision and to work with tight deadlines.
Qualifications
Secondary Education is required OR A University degree (Bachelor’s degree) in community development, sociology, public administration, economics, environment, urban planning, social or political sciences or related fields.
