Overview

The National Project Officer (Education) will provide technical expertise and coordinate with national and international partners to advance the quality, inclusiveness, and relevance of education in Uzbekistan, aligning programme objectives with the government's broader education reform.


Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical inputs for work plans and project implementation.
  • Coordinate and oversee day-to-day programme activities.
  • Provide technical support for reforming pre-service and in-service teacher education.
  • Advise on building institutional capacity of teacher training centres.
  • Liaise with local implementing partners.
  • Ensure delivery of quality outputs, including training materials.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration between UNESCO and stakeholders.
  • Liaise with development partners.
  • Represent UNESCO at relevant technical meetings.
  • Contribute technical inputs to monitoring and evaluation frameworks.
  • Support preparation of progress reports and donor briefs.
  • Participate in organizing workshops and training sessions.
  • Contribute to the development of knowledge products.
Required Experience

Minimum 2 years of relevant professional experience in the field of general education.

Qualifications

Advanced university degree (Masters or equivalent) in the field of education, social sciences, international relations, or other relevant field.

Languages Required
Excellent knowledge of English and Uzbek languages (written and oral).
Languages Preferred
Good knowledge of Russian language.
Contract Duration
1 year with possibility of extension subject to availability of funds and satisfactory performance.
