Overview
The role involves moderating selected high-level events at the Convention’s 17th Session of the Conference of the Parties, aiming to ensure efficient, effective, and productive delegate engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research on topics, speakers, and expected outcomes.
- Organize virtual and in-person meetings with teams to align objectives.
- Conduct onsite meetings with event organizers.
- Collaborate with session leads and panellists.
- Craft moderator opening remarks and panel questions.
- Conduct interviews with high-level delegates and celebrities.
- Provide counsel for event moderation.
- Prepare a post-event report of activities and lessons learned.
Required Experience
- Minimum of 10 years of working experience in a newsroom or fast-paced press and media environment.
- Proven experience in moderating high-level inter-governmental events.
- Extensive experience in writing, editing or interviewing for television or radio broadcasts.
- Experience as a news anchor is an advantage.
- Knowledge of or reporting on environmental issues is desirable.
Qualifications
• Masters degree (MA/MSc/MBA, PHD or other) in Journalism, international relations or biological or environmental studies is required.
