Overview

The consultant will strategically activate and optimize social media presence across LinkedIn, Instagram, and Facebook platforms to increase growth and engagement with targeted audiences.


Key Responsibilities
  • Produce strategic and engaging social media content and campaigns for Initiative's channels (Instagram, LinkedIn and Facebook).
  • Accelerate audience growth and engagement across all channels.
  • Ensure growth and timely production of monthly newsletter and provide social media support.
  • Conduct regular data-driven assessments of performance, and adjust tactical approach.
  • Collaborate with design, website and relevant UNCCD & GLI staff and teams.
  • Monitor and flag potential communications risks.
  • Maintain an organized digital repository of all social media visual assets and templates.
  • Any other associated tasks that are requested.
Required Experience
  • Minimum 5 years of recent experience managing social media (Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn) in a fast-paced environment is required.
  • Proven experience managing and growing online communities, fostering engagement, and responding to user enquiries and feedback is required.
  • Understanding of brand positioning, with experience maintaining brand consistency across social media platforms is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with producing other communications products (e.g., Mailchimp or Brevo) is desirable.
  • Previous experience working with the UN is desirable.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor´s degree in marketing, communications, public relations, digital media, journalism, law, social sciences or a related field is required.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop), Hootsuite and Trello are required.

Fluency in spoken and written English is required.
Languages Preferred
Knowledge of an additional official UN language is an advantage.
Contract Duration
90 days between August and December 2026.
