Overview

Provide technical backstopping to the OGMP team, focusing on reporting, data analysis, uncertainty and reconciliation, and methane emissions detection, quantification, and mitigation technologies for the oil and gas sector.


Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical backstopping to the OGMP team.
  • Work with OGMP member companies on their data methodologies and provide technical feedback.
  • Contribute to the data review process.
  • Provide inputs to Task Forces guiding OGMP 2.0 member companies.
  • Support companies’ recruitment and joining process.
  • Conduct and document technical consultations with upstream members.
  • Review upstream companies’ implementation plans.
  • Develop guidelines to assist companies meet OGMP 2.0 reporting requirements.
  • Contribute to the work of technical task forces on supporting materials and technical guidance documents.
Required Experience
  • At least five years of relevant work experience in a relevant scientific or technical field, such as atmospheric sciences, environmental engineering, petroleum engineering, or oil and gas operations.
  • A track record of working with the upstream oil and gas sector is required.
  • Expertise with methodologies and technologies for the detection, quantification, and mitigation of methane emissions.
Qualifications
  • Masters or Equivalent in environmental, sciences or engineering relevant field is preferred.
  • A first university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
