Overview
Accountable for developing, managing, coordinating, networking, implementing and monitoring an advocacy and communication strategy and associated products and activities with public audiences to promote awareness, understanding, support and respect for children’s and women’s rights, and support for UNICEF's mission, priorities and programmes.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, manage, coordinate, network, implement and monitor an advocacy and communication strategy and associated products and activities.
- Advice on the articulation of policies and strategies, with an emphasis on those that promote gender equality and equity.
- Manage communication strategy, media relations, communication, networking and partnerships, celebrities and special events, global priorities and campaigns, resource mobilization support, monitoring and evaluation, and capacity building and support.
Required Experience
- A minimum of ten years of progressively responsible and relevant professional work experience.
- International and national work experience in both developed and HICs.
- Professional experience in communication, print, broadcast, new media as well as branding and visibility.
- Experience in GCC is required.
- Advisory senior roles experience in Communications, visibility and branding is required.
- Development work and UN systems are required.
- Relevant experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings and humanitarian contexts is desirable.
Qualifications
Advanced university degree in Communication, Journalism, Public Relations or other related fields of disciplines.
