Overview

Responsible and accountable for the delivery of high-quality activities within the Emergency Recovery and Resilience Programme, coordinating implementation and liaising with stakeholders.


Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the overall implementation of the Emergency, Recovery, and Resilience Programme.
  • Guide Senior/Programme Associates and monitor financial, logistical, administrative and technical aspects.
  • Support the Senior Programme Manager with timely preparation and submission of donor reports, proposals, communications, and other materials.
  • Monitor implementation of projects according to work plans and conduct regular compliance exercises.
  • Liaise and coordinate with government entities, implementing partners, UN agencies, civil society, donors and other stakeholders.
  • Participate in the development and adjustment of methodologies, contingency plans, approaches and standard operations procedures.
  • Promote and contribute to the integration and mainstreaming of gender, protection, human rights and other pertinent cross-cutting issues.
  • Contribute to information management including research, monitoring and evaluation activities, awareness raising and visibility.
  • Participate in relevant technical working groups to promote IOM’s expertise and capacities.
  • Plan, develop, organize and deliver capacity building activities.
  • Undertake duty travel as required.
Required Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree with four years of relevant professional experience; or Master’s degree with two years of relevant professional experience.
  • Experience in liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions, United Nations agencies and non-governmental organizations.
  • Experience in working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of trafficking and other vulnerable groups.
  • Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations, non-government or government institutions/organization in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage.
  • In depth knowledge of the broad range of migration related subject areas dealt with by the Organization.
  • Knowledge of UN and bilateral donor programming.
  • Knowledge of financial rules and regulations.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law or related fields from an accredited academic institution.
  • Master’s degree in the above-mentioned fields.
