Overview

Support the planning and running of the Circular Economy and Chemicals Waste Management pillar, ensuring timely completion of projects and coordination with stakeholders.


Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Project Specialist in planning and running the CE & CWM pillar projects.
  • Maintain integrated cross-project trackers covering workplans, milestones, financial delivery, and key actions.
  • Coordinate routine programme reviews and project-level meetings.
  • Track implementation progress across project components and partner organisations.
  • Maintain an active issues and risks log across the portfolio.
  • Coordinate with government counterparts, private sector partners, civil society organisations, and UN agencies.
  • Compile progress updates, results summaries, and reporting packs.
  • Manage programme documentation, maintaining a well-organised repository.
  • Support the preparation of concept notes, project briefs, donor proposals, and knowledge products.
  • Undertake any other tasks as assigned by the Project Specialist or Senior Management.
Required Experience
  • At least 4 years of professional work experience at the national and/or international level in project management of working in the UN or other international development organization.
  • Adequate experience in management of projects in the environmental field including prior experience with circular economy, plastic waste management, e-waste, chemical waste etc.
  • Good understanding of current issues related to climate change and environment at the national and sub-national levels.
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies / Development Studies / Public Administration or any other related areas.

Remuneration
• Volunteer living allowance: INR 70,158.41 • Entry lump sum: USD 350 • Relocation costs: $175 at beginning and end of assignment if duty station is outside of commuting distance (as determined by UNV) • Exit allowance (paid on successful completion of the assignment): USD 120 for each month served, paid on completion of contract • Comprehensive coverage for health, life, malicious acts for the UN Volunteer and health insurance coverage for up to 3 eligible dependents • Annual leave: 2.5 days per month
