Overview
The Online Volunteer will support the Climate Strategy and Policy Team by quality assuring translated material from English to Portuguese (Brazilian) for the High-Integrity Carbon Markets Toolkit, Module 1. The role ensures accuracy, consistency, and standardization of technical terms, spelling, grammar, and acronym use.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensuring that technical terms and concepts are accurately and consistently translated across all products
- Ensuring that spelling, grammar, and acronym use are standardized and consistent across all products.
Required Experience
- At least 1 years’ experience as a translator, editor, interpreter, writer/copywriter or proof-reader preferably within the United Nations system or similar organization;
- Familiarity with climate change issues, especially NDCs is desirable, including understanding of technical matters in the areas such as the Paris Agreement.
- Familiarity and interest in carbon markets
Qualifications
• University degree in translation, interpreting, editing, writing, communications, linguistics, journalism, public relations, media studies or social science related field.
