Overview
The purpose of this consultancy is to strengthen UNICEF’s support to the Government of Tajikistan on climate education by providing dedicated technical and coordination assistance to integrate child-centred climate education priorities into key national sectoral documents and methodological guidance.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate structured engagement between UNICEF, the Ministry of Education and Science, the Committee for Environmental Protection and the Academy of Education.
- Support the consolidation of inputs from UNICEF’s international education consultants to ensure coherent, high-quality national products that are ready for endorsement and implementation.
Required Experience
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in climate/environmental education, education sector programming, curriculum/materials development, or related policy/technical work, including coordination with government counterparts.
- Demonstrated experience contributing to drafting or revision of policy/strategy documents, programmes, methodological guidance (metodichka) or standards in the education/environment sphere, including facilitation of multi-stakeholder consultations.
- Experience working with the Ministry of Education and Science and/or environmental authorities (CEP) and education sector institutions (e.g., Academy of Education, teacher training bodies) is an advantage.
- Experience delivering trainings/workshops, facilitating working groups, and synthesizing inputs into clear written outputs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in education, Pedagogy, Environmental Studies, Climate Change, Sustainable Development, Social Sciences or a related field.
- An advanced university degree (Master’s or higher) in a relevant discipline is an asset.
