Overview

The Senior Information Systems Officer is responsible for conceptualizing, developing strategy for, and overseeing the design and implementation of major information and communications technology infrastructure initiatives to support digital transformation, resilience, and scalable service delivery.


Key Responsibilities
  • Conceptualizes, develops strategy for and oversees the design and implementation of major information and communications technology infrastructure initiatives.
  • Manages/oversees multiple, concurrent and often disparate tasks for technology infrastructure projects.
  • Provides authoritative technical and policy advice to senior managers on systems provisioning, data center and cloud hosting, network operations, end point management and collaboration technologies.
  • Leads and directs a team of information systems officers; plans and allocates work assignments; coaches, mentors, and evaluates staff.
  • Manages procurement plans for IT infrastructure and related systems.
  • Supervises, coordinates and negotiates the services required to enable the management and operation of interdependent administrative, financial, human resources and other information systems.
  • Develops and monitors performance measures.
  • Sets up, controls and oversees IT Service Desk support services.
  • Prepares and monitors the budget, work program, and spending plans for ICT services.
  • Develops innovative solutions to resolve intricate problems.
  • Ensures the development of standards, procedures and practices to ensure a stable and effective systems environment.
Required Experience

A minimum of ten years of progressively responsible experience in respect of the planning, design, provisioning, application hosting, and operationalization of multiple large data centers, including maintenance of Local, Metropolitan, and Wide Area Networks is required. Proven experience of Disaster Recovery / Business Continuity for large ICT infrastructure operations is required.

Qualifications

An advanced university degree (master’s degree or equivalent) in computer science, information systems, mathematics, statistics or related field is required. A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree in the specific fields.
