Overview
The Programme Assistant provides administrative assistance and support within the Programme unit, contributing to the monitoring of programme activities and implementation of administrative requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative assistance and support in routine services and activities within Programme.
- Assist in organizing and documenting the selection of partners.
- Provide support to ensure partnership agreements are established, monitored, and reported on.
- Contribute to monitoring activities implemented through partnerships and direct implementation.
- Assist in ensuring compliance with issuance of audit certificates for partners.
- Use UNHCR’s corporate tools for planning, budgeting, implementation, and reporting.
- Actively contribute to UNHCR’s programming of community of practice and improvement of programming tools and processes.
- Perform other duties as required.
Required Experience
- 1-year relevant experience with a High School Diploma; or 1-year relevant experience with a bachelor's or equivalent or higher.
- Demonstrated experience in programme management, Operation Management Cycle, and related processes.
- Computer skills (in MS office), including advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, data management, etc).
- Experience working with NGOs or humanitarian organizations or development organizations is valued.
- Experience working with project development and implementation is valued.
- Experience working with financial or project databases is valued.
- Desirable: Training relevant to the function of the position, including Programme Management – Level 1. E-tutoring of PM1, Framework for Implementing with Partners Learning Programme. Experience in programme management training and capacity building activities.
- Desirable: Relevant experience in the use of databases including COMPASS, Activity Info, Cash Assist, ProGres, and Cloud ERP.
- Desirable: The use of IT and analytic tools such as Kobo, Excel and PowerBi is highly desirable.
