Overview

Refine, operationalize, and support the implementation of the IIMP Gender Strategy to ensure gender-responsive, inclusive, and aligned policies, processes, and programmatic work.


Key Responsibilities
  • Refine the IIMP Gender Strategy and assess its alignment with the institution’s mandate, priorities, and relevant international standards.
  • Support the operationalization of the Gender Strategy across institutional tools, policies, and processes.
  • Ensure the systematic integration of gender considerations across key areas of work.
  • Provide tailored technical advice to each section on integrating gender perspectives.
  • Design and deliver targeted trainings and workshops to strengthen staff capacity.
  • Develop a practical implementation framework translating the Gender Strategy into actionable activities.
  • Review institutional communication materials and provide recommendations to ensure they are gender-inclusive.
  • Propose indicators, monitoring tools, and accountability mechanisms to track progress.
  • Develop practical tools, checklists, and guidance documents.
  • Ensure that all work reflects the voices and lived experiences of victims, survivors, and families.
  • Facilitate briefings, coordination meetings, and validation sessions.
Required Experience

A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in gender mainstreaming, gender analysis, and institutional gender strategy development and implementation is required. Experience facilitating capacity-building workshops or training sessions tailored to diverse teams and institutional needs is required.

Qualifications

Advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) in Gender Studies, Social Sciences, Human Rights, Public Policy, International Development, or a related discipline is required. A first level university degree in one of the above fields with two years of additional relevant professional experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
