Overview
Responsible for the implementation of Psychosocial Support (PSS) activities, including assessments, counselling, referrals, and advocacy for vulnerable people. Contributes to preventing, mitigating, and responding to protection risks.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct individual, screening, and protection risk assessments.
- Plan, prepare, and deliver structured group PSS sessions, individual counselling, and one-off sessions.
- Prepare daily plans, materials, and visual aids for PSS sessions.
- Plan and conduct awareness-raising sessions and outreach activities.
- Assess protection issues, develop and implement case plans, and document cases.
- Refer clients to specialized MHPSS services or other institutions.
- Close cases when intervention plan objectives are met.
- Provide continuous psycho-social support via follow-up meetings.
- Contribute to reporting, program, and proposal development.
- Support mapping of service networks for referrals.
- Upload PSS activities in DRC trackers/IM systems weekly.
- Ensure data protection and confidentiality.
Required Experience
- At least 3 years of experience in psychological/psychosocial counselling, preferably with IDPs/refugees/returnees.
- Demonstrated strong experience working with vulnerable clients.
- Familiarity with the IASC Guidelines on Mental Health and Psychosocial Support in Emergency Settings.
- Demonstrated experience in conducting qualitative interviews is a strong advantage.
Qualifications
- University degree in Psychology, or Diploma/Certificates from IPSO & MoPH.
- Essential computer literacy (Microsoft Office Suite, email, etc.).
