Overview
The Humanitarian Mine Action (HMA) Officer supports the HMA program in Sumy, ensuring compliance with DRC procedures and project cycle management. This role involves program support tasks, administrative duties, and liaising with various stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Support integrated needs assessments and design of new integrated projects.
- Support project initiation at the area level, including updating PIPs and BFUs.
- Support project implementation at area level, including updating PIPs and BFUs and preparing donor reports.
- Support project closure at area level.
- Provide operational support to the HDP Area Technical Field Manager and HDP Demining Supervisor.
- Support Sumy HMA Technical Staff with paperwork for permissions and liaise for timely renewal.
- Draft letters in Ukrainian, Russian or English and file formal communications.
- Attend internal and external HDP meetings and support with note-taking.
- Provide admin and logistical support for monitoring visits.
- Support with translating sector materials and interpretation during in-country meetings.
- Support integration efforts with other sectors.
- Support the HDP program team with logistics and procurement tasks.
- Assist with HDP administrative tasks.
- Support with logistic tasks related to visits of internal and external stakeholders.
- Liaise with fleet management in coordinating vehicle and driver use.
- Support with travel documents for all staff.
- Perform other tasks as requested by the HMA Technical Field Manager.
Required Experience
- Minimum 2 years of practical experience in an admin and local government liaison role to correctly monitor compiling of HMA documentation and reporting system of DRC HDP sector.
- Experience with project management processes, including planning, coordination, and reporting (desirable).
- Experience in humanitarian NGO (desirable).
Qualifications
- University degree in project management, business administration or similar professional qualification.
- Excellent skills in MS Office Applications, such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
