Overview

Coordinate and deliver security training, conduct needs assessments, and prepare security plans and reports. The role supports the implementation of safety and security policies and liaises with various stakeholders.


Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and deliver SSAFE/IFAK courses.
  • Facilitate adult-learning, scenario-based training.
  • Conduct training needs assessment and plan trainings.
  • Adjust training scenarios.
  • Prepare draft security plans and security management documents.
  • Monitor implementation of approved security measures.
  • Maintain communication lines with UNSMS entities.
  • Assist with implementation and evaluation of security measures.
  • Conduct security surveys and assessments.
  • Support implementation of safety and security policies.
  • Maintain cooperation with authorities and international institutions.
  • Prepare draft reports on security-related incidents.
  • Provide support for Emergency Communication Systems.
  • Assist in reviewing crisis situations and preparing contingency plans.
  • Coordinate protection operations.
  • Liaise with local authorities and international institutions.
  • Assist in responding to crisis events and security incidents.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Experience

A minimum of two years of progressively responsible experience in security, risk or disaster or emergency management in the public or private service areas, such as national security, military or police, or in corporate environment is required. Experience in conducting safety and security related training is required. At least two years of work experience in security operations in the UN Common System or similar international organizations is desirable. Experience in security humanitarian crisis responses is desirable.

Qualifications

Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in security management, business administration, political/social science, psychology, criminal justice, law, international relations, or a related field is required. A first level university degree with two years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree. A first level university degree may be substituted with a diploma from a police or military education institution, college or academy obtained over a minimum of a three-year period.
