Overview
Provide technical, strategic, and programmatic support to strengthen UNICEF’s work on child-responsive Early Warning Systems (EWS) globally and across approximately 20 countries.
Required Experience
- Minimum 5–7 years of progressively responsible professional experience in early warning systems, disaster risk reduction, climate resilience, or related areas.
- Demonstrated experience in designing and/or implementing early warning systems and/or anticipatory action programmes, preferably in multiple country contexts.
- Experience in at least one of the four pillars of early warning systems (risk knowledge; monitoring and warning services; dissemination and communication; preparedness and response capability), with strong understanding of system integration across pillars.
- Proven experience in providing technical advisory support to governments and/or international organizations, including coordination with multiple stakeholders.
- Experience in proposal development and/or climate finance processes (e.g., GCF, Loss and Damage Fund) is an asset.
Qualifications
• Master’s in Disaster Risk Reduction, Climate Change, Environmental Sciences, Environment and Development, Environmental Economics, Social Protection, or a related field.
