Overview

Assists in the implementation of activities related to monitoring, documenting, and reporting on violations of international human rights law and international humanitarian law in the occupied Palestinian territory.


Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with analysis of specific cases and human rights/protection trends.
  • Support engagement with NGOs and civil society.
  • Contribute to data collection, analysis, and reporting.
  • Maintain awareness of current human rights issues.
  • Research and collect information on violations of international human rights and humanitarian law.
  • Draft inputs to reports and correspondence.
  • Participate in discussions with authorities and actors to prevent human rights violations.
  • Liaise with government, NGOs, and UN agencies.
  • Prepare preliminary versions of speeches and presentations.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
Required Experience

For applicants with a first-level university degree, two additional years of qualifying work experience is required. Experience monitoring and documenting human rights violations is desirable.

Qualifications

Advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in law, political science, international relations, social sciences, or a related field is required. A first-level university degree (Bachelor's degree or equivalent) in combination with two additional years of qualifying work experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
