Overview

The National Political and Reporting Officer supports political monitoring, analysis, and reporting within the Political Affairs and Communications Unit. The role contributes to the drafting of political reporting outputs and provides updates and advice on political developments.


Key Responsibilities
  • Monitoring and providing inputs on political developments relevant to the Mission’s mandate.
  • Contributing to political analysis and regular reporting, including inputs to Weekly Political Overviews and Monthly Activity Reports.
  • Supporting coordination with other programmatic units for information gathering and coherence in reporting.
  • Developing and maintaining contacts with relevant interlocutors to support political monitoring and information gathering.
  • Drafting and reviewing briefing materials, talking points, background notes, and speeches.
  • Organizing and participating in meetings, conferences, and events, and preparing meeting notes.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
Required Experience

A minimum of two (2) years of relevant professional experience in political affairs, in state administration and/or international organizations; Sound knowledge of the socio-political environment, political structures, institutions, and current affairs in North Macedonia and the wider regional context; Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with political actors, government officials, civil society, and international stakeholders; Proven experience in political analysis, research and reporting; Practical experience in Microsoft applications.

Qualifications

First-level university degree in political science/affairs, international relations/affairs, law, or a similar field.

Remuneration
Monthly remuneration, subject to social security deductions, is approximately EUR 2,337. Social benefits will include participation in the Cigna Medical Insurance and the OSCE Provident Fund. Appointments are normally made at Step 1 of the applicable OSCE salary scale. In exceptional cases, an initial appointment at up to Step 3 may be considered.
