Overview

The Communication Assistant will support the update, implementation, and monitoring of UNICEF Cuba's Digital Communication Strategy and the daily management of its digital platforms. The role aims to consolidate UNICEF Cuba's digital presence.


Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of a Digital Communication Strategy (2026-2027) and monthly digital communication plans.
  • Support the production, review, editing, and dissemination of multimedia content on digital channels.
  • Provide editorial support for technical and promotional materials.
  • Gather information, conduct interviews, and take photographs for human interest stories, photo essays, videos, and social media posts.
  • Moderate interactions on UNICEF's digital platforms and channels.
  • Identify information gaps for key audiences to generate useful content.
  • Monitor own content and mentions of the organization in other media and social networks, preparing monthly social listening reports.
  • Track social media accounts of UN agencies, donors, partners, Goodwill Ambassadors, and Friends of UNICEF.
  • Assist in preparing communication materials and reports for briefings, training sessions, feedback, accountability, or field visits.
  • Support communication campaigns on digital platforms with creative and innovative ideas.
  • Assist in identifying, selecting, supervising, and evaluating audiovisual and editorial service providers.
  • Support creative and collaborative work with professional communication teams for content production.
  • Support the organization of the Country Office's multimedia resource bank and contributions to the global repository (WeShare).
  • Provide constant updates on the latest trends in digital communication and audience behavior.
  • Support the identification and continuous evaluation of new opportunities and innovative practices.
  • Contribute to data collection and analysis according to indicators in the Digital Communication Strategy.
  • Assist in collecting digital content about UNICEF's work from media and partners.
  • Collaborate with the management and registration of press coverage.
  • Support information management on children in emergency contexts.
  • Conduct reviews of lessons learned from digital communication experiences and recommend innovative practices.
Required Experience
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in digital communication and its management across different platforms.
  • Experience in monitoring networks and content with a human rights focus and communicative work with children will be an added value.
Qualifications
  • University higher education with degrees in Social Communication, Journalism, Digital Communication.
  • Desirable specialized training in Social Communication, Journalism, Digital Communication, social media and community management, or a relevant field.
