Overview

The Shelter and Settlement Officer will adhere to project tools, plans, and budgets for project implementation, monitor repair work quality, and maintain stakeholder relations.


Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct technical assessments in damaged objects and prepare estimation documents.
  • Liaise with contractors to monitor rehabilitation work and certify final volumes.
  • Prepare site work plans and supervise temporary work/contractors.
  • Process, supplement, analyze, and upload data for reporting.
  • Visit households for final work checks and participate in Acceptance Acts with beneficiaries.
  • Support the shelter team in training and monitoring local partners.
Required Experience

Minimum of 3 years of professional experience as an engineer/architect involved in construction projects and/or experience in administrative and other support tasks. Preferred experience in charge of construction projects or similar. Preferably 2 years of relevant experience, preferably with experience in the field of humanitarian response for an international NGO, UN agency, relevant ministry, or local authority.

Qualifications

Master’s degree in civil engineering or another relevant field or bachelor’s degree with work experience.
