Overview
The consultant will support the preparation of proposals for the implementation of recommendations from a midterm review and for a holistic indicator framework to monitor the IPBES work programme.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake specific technical tasks related to the preparation of a proposal for the implementation of recommendations from the midterm review under the rolling work programme of the Platform up to 2030, including written inputs, analyses, and facilitation of online meetings.
- Undertake specific technical tasks related to the preparation of a holistic indicator framework to monitor the implementation of the work programme of IPBES, including written inputs, analyses, and organization of online meetings.
- Liaise with secretariat staff and relevant technical support units.
- Perform other duties as required.
Required Experience
- A minimum of two years of progressively responsible and relevant experience in natural, social or interdisciplinary sciences is required, including experience in planning, designing, managing, implementing and evaluating projects.
- Experience working with teams in interdisciplinary contexts and bringing together diverse approaches in shared deliverables is required.
- Proven organizational and management skills with ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines and adjust to changing circumstances are required.
- Experience writing and editing reports and documents addressed to multiple stakeholders is required.
- Relevant work experience with intergovernmental processes at the interface of science and policy is desirable.
Qualifications
An advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in environmental, natural social or interdisciplinary sciences, or related field, is required.
